Village of Lake Hallie Watering BAN: Effective Immediatley:   June 14, 2021   Press Release:   Effective immediately there will be an outdoor watering ban in effect for the Village of Lake Hallie water customers, due to extended dry weather.  This water ban is for outdoor watering.  This will remain in effect until further notice.   The Village ban applies to all Village of Lake Hallie water customers including residents, businesses, and parks.   The watering ban has been put into place due to the continued growth and use of irrigation systems during the recent high temperatures.  Failure to comply with the ban could result in a fine up to $300.00 for the first offense.     Derek Schad Public Works Supervisor   Effective immediately there will be an outdoor watering ban in effect for Village of Lake Hallie water customers, due to extended dry weather.  This ban is listed in the Village of Lake Hallie Code of Ordinances Section 4.3.02 Water Service (10) Sprinkling Ban.  This will remain in effect until further notice.    (10)     Sprinkling Ban.  The Village of Lake Hallie and the Department reserve the right to declare a temporary ban on lawn sprinkling for municipal water users only.  This ban may be imposed when it is apparent; due to conditions of drought or extreme heat that a shortage of water may or does exist that may prevent or hinder water supplies for firefighting or other purposes.  The Department, in its discretion, may grant exemptions.  Owners may request exemptions from the ban on forms provided by the Department for extraordinary circumstances such as newly sodded lawns or newly seeded lawns.   a.       Referral to Police Department. If a violation of this section persists after one violation notice has been served, this matter may be referred to the Police Department.  If the Police Department determines there is sufficient evidence to proceed, a citation may be issued.  Each day a violation continues constitutes a separate offense.   b.      Penalty.  Any person subject to penalty under this section shall be penalized as provided in 1.4.02 of this code.   c.       Suspension of Service.  Water service may be suspend to a property in violation of this section if the following conditions exist:                                                                             i.      Six or more citations have been issued pursuant to 4.3.02(13)(c).                                                                           ii.      The violation interferes with the water service of others.                                                                         iii.      No heat advisory, heat warning or heat emergency has been issued by the National Weather Service.                                                                         iv.      Suspension would otherwise not be prohibited by any rule of the Public Service Commission, including but not limited to Wisconsin Administration Cod PSC 185.37.      For any further updates you may check the Village of Lake Hallie website at www.lakehallie.us.   Derek Schad Public Works Supervisor

VILLAGE OF LAKE HALLIE, COUNTY OF CHIPPEWA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to s. 70.45, Wis. Stats., the assessment roll for the 2021 assessment year will be open for examination June 9, 2021. OPEN BOOK sessions will be conducted by phone only. If you would like to set up a phone appointment, please contact Bowmar Appraisal, Inc. at (715)835-1141 during regular business hours (M-F, 8:30-4:30) no later than 3 days prior to the Board of Review. The 2021 assessment roll, instructional information, and objection forms will be made available. These documents will assist with scheduling a hearing before the Board of Review. Keep in mind that objection forms must be filed with the clerk of the Board of Review at least 48 hours before the Board of Review is conducted unless the Board of Review chooses to waive this requirement.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the BOARD OF REVIEW for the Village of Lake Hallie of Chippewa County shall be held on June 17, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Village of Lake Hallie Municipal Building, 13136 30th Avenue, Lake Hallie, WI. Please be advised of the following requirements to appear before the Board of Review and procedural requirements if appearing before the Board:
1. No person shall be allowed to appear before the Board of Review, to testify to the Board by telephone or to contest the amount of any assessment of real or personal property if the person has refused a reasonable written request by certified mail of the Assessor to view such property.
2. After the first meeting of the Board of Review and before the Board’s final adjournment, no person who is scheduled to appear before the Board of Review may contact, or provide information to, a member of the Board about the person’s objection except at a session of the Board.
3. No person may appear before the Board of Review, testify to the Board by telephone or contest the amount of assessment unless, at least 48 hours before the first meeting of the Board or at least 48 hours before the objection is heard if the objection is allowed because the person has been granted a waiver of the 48 hour notice of an intent to file a written objection by appearing before the Board during the first two hours of the meeting and showing good cause for failure to meet the 48 hour notice requirement and files a written objection, that the person provides to the Clerk of the Board of Review notice as to whether the person will ask for removal of any Board members and, if so, which member will be removed and the person’s reasonable estimate of the length of time that the hearing will take.
4. When appearing before the Board, the person shall specify, in writing, the person’s estimate of the value of the land and of the improvements that are the subject of the person’s objection and specify the information that the person used to arrive at that estimate.
5. The Board shall hear upon oath, by telephone, all ill or disabled persons who present to the Board a letter from a physician, surgeon or osteopath that confirms their illness or disability. No other persons may testify by telephone.
6. Anyone wishing to file an objection must contact the Village Clerk to complete and submit the required objection form supplied by the Village, prior to appearing before the Board of Review.
